Dear reader,
Welcome to the world of Giant Tortoises, Marine Iguanas, blue footed boobies, and penguins. Wait Penguins? We're not in the Arctic we're in the Galapagos!!
This is me inside a tortoise shell!! (I did not kill it)
In Santa Cruz we stayed in tents!! It was really fun because you got to wake up to birds chirping. The first day we saw giant tortoises and went through a lava tunnel!! Baker freaked out and Lulu loved it!! The second day we went on a boat ride and I threw up a lot. I felt better so we took a dingy and snorkeled off it. Then we went to a beach and snorkeled off the beach. I got to see a sea turtle, it was feeding on algae on the sea floor. It was really cute. On day 3 we went on a bike ride to Ayoro and hiked to tortuga bay and kayaked with turtles.
On day 4 we took the world's smallest plane to Isabela Island. We did 2 big things. We went on a boat and snorkeled. It was really fun because we got to see blue footed boobies, baby marine iguanas, cute baby sea lions, and penguins. Yes, penguins! The Galapagos penguin is the third smallest penguin in the world. They have bad eyesight so they use their feet to know what is around them.
I really love the Galapagos and Ecuador but I also miss all of you. We are going to Peru now!
Fun Facts With Ginny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is no mail system in Ecuador. The president shut down the mail so that's why you have't gotten any post cards from me.
The Galapagos is 97% national park, so animals get to live their lives without humans disrupting them.
There are 10 living species of Galapagos tortoises. Scientists believe that 6 have gone extinct.
Hasta Luego!
