Since I last wrote we have done many adventurous things in Patagonia!
But first I had to say adios to Mati and Santiago. It was very very very sad. Daddy took us out for a good bye ice cream on Saturday, and I said good bye to my chilean BFF. I miss Mati very very very very much.
We flew from Santiago to Puerto Natales in Chile Patagonia. We arrived when it was very early and very coldddddddd. We had breakfast at the lodge and then we played video games for a few hours and walked to get lunch and helado in town. I had a yummy shrimp burger and chocolate ice cream. We walked back to the lodge along the beach and saw lots of sea glass, shiny purple shells, and baby ducks. Then we went right to bed.
On Monday morning we met our guide Tim. He is very nice and speaks four languages! Tim took us on a 4 1/2 mile hike to see caves and passages. My favorite cave was the saber tooth tiger cave because we crawled into the cave and then could stand up and walk in the cave.
We hiked up a lot of big hills with amazing views of the mountains in the Torres Del Paine park. It was snowy here until 2 weeks ago so there is still lots of snow on the mountains. I felt really calm looking at the mountains. We also saw a lot of condors sitting on rocks and flying around.
Next we drove to the cave where scientists found a Mylodon, aka the giant sloth. It was really cool because a Mylodon used to live there! It was so well preserved that they thought it was a still living creature even though it had forever fainted 8,000 years ago! Here is a picture of me and my siblings hugging a statue of the Mylodon that is inside the cave. Isn't it cute???
Then we drove to our next hotel which was the best because we got to sleep in campers! It had a big yard, several dogs, and a KITTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We played tag and at one point Mommy was sprinting and I was right on her tail. Then we had a relay race and we used an empty bottle as the baton. I had the amazing idea of running with the baton in my mouth so we could run with both our hands instead of a hand and a baton-bottle.🤪. Coo coo idea, right?
In this photo Baker is just taking the baton-bottle out of his mouth give it to me so that I can do the final leg and bring us home!
We had a cold night sleep that night because daddy didn't light the fire but Tim said the fire in his camper made it too hot, so it's a mix. Then yesterday morning we went on a barfy boat ride on Grey Lake to look at a huge glacier from three different points of view. I didn't actually barf but I sure felt like it! The glacier was so blue and beautiful. The glaciers are melting so I am grateful that I got to see them. Did you know that in about 30 years the glaciers will barely be there.
After the boat ride we went on a hike in the park to a spot where we ate our lunch. It was really windy so we ate lunch under a huge tree next to the river. It was really windy and mommy said "I hope these branches stay put!" then dada said "they look pretty thick" and then I said " that's a bad thing!" I said that because if the thick branches fell then they would land on our heads and we might faint or die!!!!!!!!!!!
Then we came back to our camper and played tag, did school, and I typed up my blog! There is going to be a big storm tonight and tomorrow. I'm excited because I love storms. Storms also rattle our camper so I was a bit scared.
I miss you all and hope school is treating my friends well!

Hi Ginny, what a place to visit. I love how peaceful things look and how remote it is. Sorry to hear you had to leave Mati but remember to never say Goodbye, just “Ill see you later” as you never know when you may meet again.
Thanks for sharing your adventures and warming our hearts.
