Elephants and Friends

Hi friends! We are in Khao Son, Thailand, and so far we've done some pretty awesome stuff.

First we played with our friends, the Shoemakers. We met the Shoemakers back in Calafate, Argentina, and we saw them again in Sydney. They are a family with 3 girls who are traveling the world for a year too. The oldest is 13, the middle is 11, and the youngest is 8. It was a coincidence that we were staying at the same hotel as them in Chiang Mai. They are so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so much fun and I miss them already.

Second we went to Sri Lanna national park to climb Sticky Falls. It is called Sticky Falls because minerals accumulate on the rocks, making them sticky. Not like super gooey but sticky enough that you won't fall over.

Climbing up a waterfall was not like anything that I've done before. You actually don't get that wet except for 1 waterfall that just sprays water on you. It was so fun feeling your feet stick to the rock.

On our last day in Chiang Mai we painted ceramic elephants at a shop called Elephant Parade. One fifth of the money spent there goes directly to an elephant hospital just north of there. One of the elephants that is helped there is named Mosha. When Mosha was 7 months old she stepped on an active land mine and lost part of her leg. If you want to learn more about Mosha and the other elephants go to THIS LINK. It was really fun painting elephants. Outside the door were 2 HUGE elephants. I got my picture taken with the purple one and Lulu got hers with the pink metallic one.

Painting the elephants was really fun. It reminded me of when me and Eva would go to Paint the Town in U-Village. Remember that Eva???

We left Chiang Mai and drove 1 and a halve hours to Chai Lai resort to play with elephants. The thing with the resort is that they say that they want to stop elephant captivity but then they take the elephants and never release them. They never release the babies so in like 20 years all the elephants there will have been born there. So it just turns in to a petting zoo which is where the original elephants came from.😭👎 Even though it was super sad, feeding the babies was fun!😸

In this photo I am feeding a baby girl elephant sugar cane!

In this photo I am feeding her vitamins.

My next blog will be from a beach!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to sleep ALLLLLL DAYYYYYYYYY!!!!!

Love Ginny
